Photoscape Experimenting
The more I play with Photoscape, the more I like it. Simple to use and effective for many editing jobs.
This 1st pic shows a few of the features. The original in the background was far too dark and dull. 2 clicks added light and contrast. 1 more click added a frame. Then choose a layout and drag n’ drop the 2 photos into place.
The next 2 pics are from a simple group shot. Cropped and saved the portraits and then used filters to soften and lighten the faces.
Lightening and mole removal are so easy to do with Photoscape. This software may even make a decent photographer out of me,
For this crop I just used the smoothing filter to soften the skin, with no lighting changes.
Photoscape has many more options, I’m still finding more as I experiment. For free software it is tremendous and well worth a donation to the developers.
Finally, an attempt at lifting the colours of one of the waterfall pictures I was disappointed with before. Not a great improvement, but it’s hard to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
Better?? Worse?? Too Artificial?? Any suggestions for improvement are welcome.
You can get a FREE copy of Photoscape too, HERE. Just click on the screenshot to visit the download site.

humm usually using irfanview.. better i try this too.. thanks..
My camera does a lot of this stuff, so I’m not sure if Photoscape is much better. I’ll have to check it out. I have the Nikon D60 and it offers a TON of corrections right in the camer.
All I have is a simple Samsung point n shoot pocket camera. Works fine for my needs and is easy to carry around. Photoscape is free and may be of use to others, I like the simplicity of it compared to loading up the gimp for simple editing stuff.
Sure, another toy to play with! I’ve been looking for something for our new computer
I’m just using the Microsoft Picture Manager.
I downloaded Photoscape and will try to play /experiment with it later.
Thanks for sharing.
That looks like a great program. I wish mole removal in real life was as easy as in pictures.
seeing is believing. There is a huge difference before and after.
I downloaded this yesterday after seeing your post - and I’ve been having great fun with it ever since! Thanks so much for the information!
