Flooding in Panama, Chiriqui and Bocas del Toro
This week has seen an exceptional amount of rain, and no sign of it letting up for a few days yet.
In the western provinces of the country, flooding has caused a tremendous amount of damage.
7 people dead and 30,000 homeless that are known about so far. Many areas are completely cut off from contact so I expect there will be more bad news to come.
The following link is to the Boquete Weather website, with many pictures from that area.

No photos yet from the Bocas del Toro islands, but reports coming in say that they are completely cut off with regard to supplies as the only road along the mainland into the area has more than 30 landslides or whole sections of road washed away. The electricity generation system has only a couple of days fuel left, and the water plant is flooded with salt water from the tidal surges. Older residents are reporting the highest tides they have seen in more than 70 years.
