About
The wanderings of an elderly Gringo around the Republic of Panama. I hope to show the real people and places as they are.
Panama is a beautiful country with warm friendly people, but it is not the Panama projected as an image by far too many websites with something here they want to sell.
The city is hyped beyond all reason, and construction is everywhere. Unfortunately the infrastructure is already overloaded, and unlikely to improve due to the Panamanian policy of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ and when it does break, patch it cheap.
Fortunately the interior still retains much of it’s character, mainly due to the lack of investment except along the coast where the towers are already sprouting up at city type prices.
Anyway, enough of the pollytickin. This journal is simply a collection of snaps taken during my travels. No photoshop, and not always the best shots. Simply Panama as seen throught the lens of my ordinary little ‘point and shoot’ camera.

loved your site, i’m a panamenian living in florida, and bumped here while promoting my blog ! can’t wait to go back.
Dropped in and I would just like to say that it is good to see a site such as yours, which veers away from giving a sugar coated view of Panama and shows it the way it really is.
